European Daily Market Review 7.2.20

European markets ended the session on a lower side with shares in London leading the region.

The British FTSE-100 dropped 0.51% while Germany’s DAX slipped 0.45% and the French CAC-40 lost 0.14%.

The Turkish lira fell past the 6-per-USD levels for the first time since late May. The lira sunk as much as 1% to 6.0482 today with losses accelerating after a higher-than-estimates U.S. jobs report boosted the value of the USD versus its major peers.

Credit Suisse Group AG is turning to the first Swiss-born Chief Executive Officer in almost two decades to restore calm in a boardroom shaken by infighting and personal animosities.

Moreover, Thomas Gottstein will replace Tidjane Thiam at the helm of the lender, is as Swiss an executive as they come. He has 20 years of experience of the bank, with a background in business.
