What Is the Nikkei 225 Index?
The Nikkei 225 is a stock market index for the Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE). It is a price-weighted index, operating in Japanese Yen (JP¥), and its components are reviewed once a year. The Nikkei measures the performance of 225 of the largest, publicly owned companies in Japan from a comprehensive array of industry sectors.
