U.S. Daily Market Review 12.2.20

U.S. stocks managed to advance today with the major benchmarks reaching all-time highs.

The S&P-500 and Dow Jones Industrials reached all-time highs today as investors drew comfort from a loss in the number of new cases of coronavirus.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average surged 178 points, or 0.6%, at 29,454, while the S&P-500 gained about 14 points or 0.4%, to trade near 3,372.

The Nasdaq Composite Index jumped 68 points to 9,710, a gain of 0.7%. Job openings retreated once again at the very end of December, the bottom of the last two years, according to Labor Department.

The unemployment rate is around the lows of the last 50-years.

Moreover, the labour market tightened again as 2019 came to a close.
